IF: wired
In the 60's there were 3 guitarist that every one agreed on where the best, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck.
Now its over 40 years later and I just read an article this past weekend that said Clapton sold out and Page burned out.
It also so said when asking any famous guitarist who the best is ... one name rises to the top....
JEFF BECK!!!
The last man standing.
This is my tribute to him, his music and the Lp he made in the 70's with the same name as this weeks word... WIRED

But Michael, what about Chet Atkins? He was awesome.
ReplyDeleteLove your tribute and how you illustrated it.
Love this piece, terrific!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Cool illo and very well done!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Beck rocks!! It's also an excellent beer :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome piece, Michael.
ReplyDeleteI love Jeff Beck myself...that kind of talent is just not fair...great entry, Michael!
ReplyDeleteVery cool design michael-
ReplyDeletewonderful tribute-1 like the colors and the font you have chosen!
ReplyDeletegreat concept and entry for wired! Jeff Beck Rocks!
ReplyDeleteYay for Jeff Beck!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Michael, nice work here-this would make a fine album cover (did I just say "album"?, blush). I'm a big fan of Alex Lifeson's work with Rush, myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda partial to Jimmy Page myself. Saw him a few times with The Firm. But I guess with Paul Rodgers singing any guitarist could sound good.
ReplyDeleteHaving said all that...I really like this!
nice - this inspired me to put on blow by blow - one of my favorite albums ever
ReplyDeletegreat piece! but what about jimi hendrix?????

Very very cool idea! I think Jeff Beck is great, I like Yngwie Malmsteen as well.
ReplyDeleteI bet he'd love this tribute, Michael. Your illo is terrific :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment! I've actually never read a manga in my life. ^.^ No obsessive amount of anime, either.
ReplyDeleteThis illo is great. I love the shiny blue on the black background.
Wow, fantastic looking piece Michael. I'll have to show my brother this illo, he's a big Jeff Beck fan. Beautiful color and design. Wired and then some!
ReplyDeleteas everyone here said - very cool, this illo rocks! thx for your nice comment too.
ReplyDeleteNice illo, love Jeff Beck - good job all around...really like the composition and neon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful interaction of text and image. The dark background really sets the important information to the front.
ReplyDeleteHow about Kermit the Frog? He could strum a mean banjo...
ReplyDeleteeeek I ADORE the guitar!!!!!! Not quite clean lines and alll that cool sketchy goodness!!!!! makes me wanna play!
ReplyDeletenice! looks like a good add for guitars or something... I have always been a fan of brian may... but I think that's because I love Queen... I also have to agree that I think that Jimmy Page would be a the top of my list too.
ReplyDeleteGreat illo!
very strong work… and i agree with aynaku… what about hendrix? alas…he too is gone… so it would still leave beck as the last man standing… thanks for the visit and kind words
ReplyDeletewow, its great :o)
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes,
Issi
Nice image - could be used as a cd-cover or something like that.
ReplyDeleteBut Clapton is the one!
Great work! So much energy...
ReplyDeleteNice electric lines! The composition in this is really pleasing to look at.
ReplyDeleteBack in my wilder (and much younger) days, I saw Beck, Bogart and Apice at a show in SF. Black Oak Arkansas (Jim Dandy to the Rescue) opened for them. Whoa, it's a wonder I can call that back up... the rest of the night is very cloudy.
