Andrea made this clear to me. No one wants to be rejected, no matter what the circumstances are. This is very deep and well executed. Is that a tear on her cheek?
Is she making lemonade sitting on a giant lemon half- i.r.t. the saying, "when life gives you lemons..."? Whatever the case, this illustration is the lemonade.
very interesting piece, balance, rejection, there's a lot going on there:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with bookbabie. I like the multilayered effect, it really looks like things are in motion, like an optical illusion.
ReplyDeleteDealing with rejection *is* a balancing act, isn't it? Very original stuff.

ReplyDeleteRejection-hard to take, and if it can somehow be managed as this brave soul seems to be doing, bravo.
ReplyDeleteFascinating Michael!
Neat-o! Very cryptic, but cool.

ReplyDeleteLove the concept!
ReplyDeleteClever concept as always!
ReplyDeleteYou are really faithful to your style!
Cata.
Not exactly sure what the woman's pose means...but the whole piece together is very successful at conveying a sense of tense gloom.
ReplyDeleteAre we looking at the queen of hearts? Those eyes and lips look familiar. So well done and thought-provoking
ReplyDeleteOhhh... I like the lighting!
ReplyDeleteIs it rejection if I mention you misspelled "than"? (Former English teacher; can't help myself.)
