Send me one of those drinks will ya! One Humorous illo, the other appetizing! So fun!
ReplyDeleteIf you are "puttin da lime in da coconut.".. why not do it in Jamaica with the yellow birds and the lemon trees... The image makes me think of warm sweet breezes and sparkling waves...and the hint of steel drums in the background. Thanks for the memory.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I didn't think of that song for this topic. lol Bottom illustration looks good so far. I really like the idea of a cityscape for the background.

ReplyDeleteHa, wonderful! I love Harry and my John got to work with him a little and he was a party waiting to happen! Your girl is cool too!

ReplyDeletehahaha! awesome!
ReplyDeleteToo too funny Michael! I remember tis song as a kid actually, and those lyrics were one of the first things i thought of when i saw the prompt. I'm glad someone used them!
ReplyDeleteI think for the bottom one I would make the background a beach scene with a juice stand selling these citrus concoctions. Just an idea..
ReplyDeletemaybe you could do several different backrounds! i look forward to seeing it, i love the beginnings.
ReplyDeleteNice :-) The first one is great. I like your use of white space.
ReplyDelete... an' den she drink it all up... and then my mind goes into the almost falsetto 'doc-tor-r-r'. Whoa. Now where did I put that lime and that hairy coconut? Getting thirsty. Great post.
ReplyDeleteI like the little stick man with the big problem, but coconut and lime it could work, nice flavor, if he could combine them. Looks like the beginning of a great picture, although she looks kinda special standing there with her cool drink, I wonder if she really needs anything else.
ReplyDeleteYou are always surprising and interesting Michael!
Awesome!!!!
ReplyDelete(But now I'm gonna be singing that song all day, doggone it...)
Hahaha! It feels like watching really funny & edgy cartoon on TV.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Stan Freberg's Banana Boat cartoon! Wish i could find that somewhere on the internet...
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting reading about "Cornbread" McCray. And I'll be waiting to see what you do with the lime in de coconut background. That was a Harry Neisen song? Didn't know that. As usual I got another COL from your comment.
